Web Search / Vision (beta)
Both are currently INTERNAL_BETA capabilities, hidden from ordinary users by default and available only to admins or whitelisted users.
Web Search
Once enabled in the Tools menu, sending a Chat / Plan first runs a web search and injects the result summary as context for the current turn, showing the sources below.
- Admin / whitelist only
basicsearch depth, up to 3 results- Returns only title / URL / snippet / source / time
- Rate-limited; results are not logged and not stored locally
- Turning it off stops injection
Vision (image understanding)
With a Vision model selected, an uploaded image is sent to the model to "see" directly, rather than OCR'd.
- Admin / whitelist only
- jpg / png / webp, ≤ 2 MB, one image
- The image is not persisted, not logged, and not kept in the session / local storage
Regular models OCR uploaded images instead (text extraction) — see File upload. The two are complementary.
Status
If your account doesn't show these toggles, they aren't enabled for you. To try them, ask an administrator to add you to the whitelist.
