What balance is
Balance is your prepaid runtime credit. Each model call is charged by token usage and the model's unit price; when balance is insufficient, calls are rejected.
Why calls cost money
Calls are billed as (input + output tokens) × model unit price (except free trial models). Unit prices differ per model — see Models overview.
Pre-freeze and final charge
To prevent overspending, the system pre-freezes an estimated amount before a call, then settles by actual usage afterward and releases the over-frozen part. So you may briefly see a "frozen" amount — that's normal, and the final charge follows actual usage.
Usage records
The platform usage / billing page shows the model, tokens, and cost of each call.
Insufficient balance
When you see insufficient_credit or a "runtime credit insufficient" message:
- Check your current balance
- Online recharge is coming soon (see Recharge)
- For now, ask an administrator to grant test credit
